Dear Friends and Partners,

I am excited to ask you to mark your calendars for the 2017 AUCD for All Gala, celebrating leadership in expanding employment opportunities for Americans with disabilities. The event will be held on March 22 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Carnegie Library (801 K Street, NW) in Washington, DC. The AUCD for All Gala is an opportunity to connect with the talented staff at the AUCD network centers and programs, disability advocates, leading businesses, and key government officials and staff.

This year’s event will focus on the issue of employment for people with disabilities, highlighting the need for more aggressive efforts to increase disability employment across the nation. For the past 50 years, AUCD centers and programs have been working with people with disabilities, family members, policymakers, and our colleagues in the disability community to break down barriers and build up opportunities for work and careers for people with disabilities. All people with disabilities have the right to work for competitive wages and the opportunity to advance in a career.

Last year I was so grateful to have over 300 people turn out to our inaugural gala celebrating leadership in education, where we honored Wade Henderson of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and the team behind Understood.org. I invite you to join us this year to learn about the great efforts of the AUCD network centers and programs and to join us in working toward reaching the goal of Employment for All!

Mark your calendars for March 22. I look forward to seeing you there!

With warmest regards and gratitude for your support,

Andy Imparato
AUCD Executive Director
